Expert Camellia Growers

Our team enjoyed an exclusive tour of the beautiful Tregothnan Estate – the expert camellia growers renowned for their exceptional tea!

Home to the Boscawen family for generations, the estate is multifaceted with expansive woodlands, thriving agriculture, property rental, beekeeping operations and of course, the iconic tea plantation.

Breath-taking Gardens

The estate opens to the public once a year, during their Open Garden Celebration, so we were thrilled to be invited for a private tour!

Tregothnan, which translated from Cornish means “The house at the head of the valley”. Their beautiful, well-kept gardens are an incredible site to see, and truly breath-taking. Their skilled gardening team maintains the grounds and protects rare species, such as the Wollemi Pine, once believed to have been extinct for more than 50 million years!

Where is Tregothnan Estate?

Situated on the River Fal’s deep-sea creek, Tregothnan boasts a microclimate ideal for a wide variety of extraordinary fruit trees and plants. All of which thrive in this unique environment. Additionally, Tregothnan is an official ‘safe site’, dedicated to the preservation of rate and endangered trees from across the globe.

Tregothnan’s Cornish-grown tea is available on our website, within The Cornish Pantry, or as part of our Luxury Hamper collection. Perfect for tea enthusiasts, it offers a true taste of Cornwall, straight from the expert camellia growers themselves…
