How to Make Easter Nests

Here’s how to make the perfect Easter nests with minimal fuss and maximum yum: 

Ingredients: 

  • 200g milk chocolate (or dark, if you fancy) 
  • 50g unsalted butter 
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup 
  • 100g cornflakes (or shredded wheat for extra crunch) 
  • Mini chocolate eggs (as many as your heart desires!) 

Method: 

  1. Melt with care: In a saucepan over gentle heat, melt the chocolate, butter and golden syrup together. Stir until smooth, glossy and irresistible. 
  1. Mix it up: Remove from the heat and stir in the cornflakes. Gently fold them in so they’re all evenly coated without getting crushed. 
  1. Shape your nests: Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases, making a little dip in the centre with the back of the spoon. 
  1. Decorate: Pop 2–3 mini eggs into each nest while still warm. Then refrigerate for about an hour until set. 

These are lovely served on an Easter tea table or wrapped in cellophane with a ribbon for homemade gifts. They also make a great school holiday activity with kids or grandkids—and yes, licking the bowl is part of the fun.
